Q: Where are you from, and when did you move to Austin/Round Rock?
A: I'm from Highland Village, Tx in the DFW area. I moved to Austin in the Fall of 2015.
Q: Do you have kids (if so how many? boy/girl?), Husband, Wife?
A: I have a beautiful daughter, Eleanor, and a gorgeous wife, Michelle! And can't forget about my dog-ter, Chloe... she's just a pup.
Q: What recreational activities did you do as a kid?
A: When I was a wee little lad, I played a lot of sports like football, baseball, soccer, roller hockey and more. But nothing took my interest more than skating! I went to skateparks with my friends on a regular basis. Several fractured bones later, I then took up TNT and started training on trampolines in my pre-teen years. Once I found parkour when I was 14, that became my life! Well... that and video games! Oh, I can't forget about longboarding as well. There's no better thrill than bombing a huge hill on a set of wheels that can only stop when the hill runs out!
Q: What’s your movement background and experience?
A: Parkour and trampolines were my main movement disciplines that I trained the most and dedicated a lot of time to. I started TNT when I was 12, and parkour when I was 14. Once I finally quit playing high school football when I was 17, I dedicated all of my time to parkour and developed my skills as much as I could. At around age 26 or so, my wife and I found Rock Climbing together and that has been our main source of training inspiration ever since.
Q: How did you find The Jungle, and what do you like about working at The Jungle?
A: When Josh, Eddie, and I started The Jungle, it was just a dream that we worked so hard to bring to life. It started when Josh and I stopped working for another gym and started a "gym" in our backyard. Read our "About us" page to learn more about our history.
One of the most substantial things I like most about working at The Jungle is learning how to become a better leader and influence/motivate the fantastic team that I work with. There are few things more rewarding than helping provide a community that people love to be a part of.
Q: What's your Jungle animal?
A: My animal is the monkey! OO OO AH AH!
Q: Why are you a coach?
A: I became a coach because I wanted to help others discover their own potential and become the best version of themselves. Through hard work, discipline, and training, you are forged into someone different, someone better than you were before. My goal is to help the future generations (and current as well), be shaped into resilient, strong, and inspirational people that will make a difference in the world one day.
Q: What goals in life do you have?
A: Too many! But one of my broader life goals is to create a legacy to pass down to my daughter and be a role model for my family and others. One of my more selfish goals is to one day own a fun, fast car!
Q: What accomplishments have you achieved in life so far? (What are you proud of?)
A: Following my dream and creating something from nothing with my friends. Creating a family and being the provider for them!
Q: What’s your favorite restaurant?
A: Sushi Junai 2
Q: What's your favorite meal to cook?
A: Pizza! From scratch.
Q: Favorite treat?
A: Carnivore cake
Q: Favorite show/movie?
A: Deathnote
Q: Favorite video game?
A: Assassin's Creed
Q: Favorite Color?
A: Blue
Q: What's your dream vacation?
A: Go to an isolated spot in nature with my family and rock climb, camp, and get in touch with the elements.
Q: If you could only bend one element (earth, air, water, fire), what would it be and why?
A: Water! It's the element of healing and the ultimate element of flow. As a massage therapist, I'd be way more effective at my job!
