Who is Scott McDonald:
Scott McDonald is an acrobatic coach and former Cirque du Soleil performer known for both his creative approach and for teaching a wide variety of disciplines in a progressive, step-by-step way that makes learning safe, fun and approachable! He loves training students of all ages and levels and has worked with a wide range of clients including celebrities, children with learning disabilities, amputees, complete beginners, national team gymnasts, Cirque du Soleil show teams, and Olympic gold medalists.
Scott coaches in a way that celebrates progress and breaks complicated skills down into simple, achievable components. He believes that the psychological side of athletics is just as important as the physical side and communicates with his athletes about what they're focusing on, feeling, and spotting throughout the learning process.
When not coaching, Scott creates free youtube tutorials, runs a podcast entitled Circus Source, judges circus festivals and trampwall competitions, conducts and presents acrobatics-related research internationally, does career consultations with budding acrobats, and hosts an annual national medical conference in Las Vegas entitled Circus Meets Medicine.
